                                          2010 - 2011 ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS 

u    Sent 18 youth to Camp Jubilee

u    Donated $500 to Celebration of Community

u    Donated $500 to Diwali Celebration

u    Donated $1000 to Habitat for Humanity Housebuilding in Guatemala ( Hatzic Secondary)

u    Donated $575 towards a bursary for a student of Stand Up for Mental Health at UFV

u    Donated $650  to send two students to the RCMP Youth Academy

u    Donated $300 to Christmas Bureau / Christmas at the Clarke

u    Contributed $1000 towards the District Kick Polio Out Soccer Ball presented to Ray Klinginsmith

u    Clean up of D'herbomez Creek

u    Planted Trees and Shrubs at the Silvercreek Wetlands

u    Helped to organize the annual Terry Fox Run

u    Ran regular 4 Way Test Workshop / Discussion groups with Grade 6 and 7 students

u    Initiated the Serving from the Heart Award, presented monthly to a high school student

u    Initiated the Drive for Five - membership acquisition and retention plan

u    Initiated a weekly Foundation Fun portion of the meetings where Deanne Miller and Gerri Lewis present the Rotary Foundation in a way that is fun for all members. 

u    Revitalized  our club website

u    Provided new furnishings and equipment for Future Shop Daycare

u    Ran a series of informal workshop discussions for teen parents of Future Shop Daycare on early literacy skills

u    Continued with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program - half of our hundred children are now registered. 

u    Raised over $2300 for Polio Plus through Christmas Tree Sales

u    Raised over $1600 for Scholarships from Blueberry Sales

u    Organized and participated in the Rotary Carol Festival - an event which has continued for more than 50 years

u    Had Rotary Information Tables at the Celebration of Community, Indoor Farmer's Market, and the Riot of Reading Solutions Family Literacy Fair

u    Applied for Matching Grant to set up a permanent Dental Clinic in Ndola, Zambia.  A team from our club are going to take equipment and perform free dentistry in the first two weeks of March, 2011

u    Organized In to Africa Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner to raise additional funds for above project

u    Regular articles about Rotary are appearing in our newspaper.

-Rotary Health Centre on Third Avenue.

-Scholarships to all three Mission high schools.

-International Student Exchange Programs.

-Suicide Prevention Projects.

-Seating at the Clarke Foundation Theatre.

-Environmental clean-up of Lane Creek.

-Regular Adopt-A-Block participation.

-Rotary Carol Festival - proceeds to the Food Bank.

-Flag Plaza at the Fraser River Heritage Park.

-Cleaning and painting of the Grotto

-Salmon Enhancement Project at Silvermere Lake.

-The Christmas Candlelight Parade Float.

-The Soap Box Derby.

-'Polio Plus' Program - stamping out polio world - wide.

-Disaster Relief, including the Interior of BC in 2003.
