Rotarians gathered on Saturday for a Harvest Supper to raise money to support Families in Mission.  Proceeds will go to the Mission Community Services Food Centre and to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program which provides books for 100 children in our community. Image

Our Harvest Supper fundraiser event was a great success!  The hall was packed, the food was excellent, the music by Retro Fire was fantastic, the desserts were delicious and apparently were specially made with no calories as this was a charity event.  Those who came had a great time.  We feasted on Roast Turkey and Ham, Roasted Mixed Vegetables locally grown at Ferndale Farms, Wilted Kale Salad, Caesar Salad, and topped it off with an array of delectable desserts which were auctioned off.

There were lots of laughs, and some great dancing tunes after the food was consumed and the tables were pulled back. People who came were generous with their donations of books and baby food for the Food Centre.  Morton the Moose, our Rotary Polio Warrior even got a waltz with Rotarian Janet.  At the end, waiting for his ride outside the church hall, Morton said that midnight was probably the latest that any moose had ever stayed up!
