Maybe you have heard the story about the Starfish. About the little girl who walked the beach littered with thousands of dying starfish, throwing one at a time back to the ocean. When told that it was hopeless and could never make a difference she said as she threw another starfish: “Well it made a difference to that one.”
There are hungry children in our communities; in resource and food-rich British Columbia. In Canada.
The Rotary Club of Mission is trying to make a difference to these children, one at a time, by supporting the Starfish Backpack Program, an initiative that sends food home for struggling families on weekends when school food programs are not available.
